For Closer Collaboration, Try Education March 9, 2007

Busy with preparing course material for Supply Chain Management for MBA course, I came across with the interesting article from Supply Chain Management Review (Jan 2007).

As more and more companies are focusing on their core competence, they rely more on external suppliers to support their non-core requirements. Companies must manage their relationship with their supplier in delivering the best products or services to their customers in the right time, price and quality. In some situation the relationship should be extended into closer collaboration for example in new product development process. Many research and report has reported how this collaboration can be achieved through various strategy such as information technology, information sharing, partner co-location and etc. This article from Supply Chain Management Review presents different view in which Education is one way to build closer collaboration with supply chain partners.
